Chocolate covered bananas have become my go-to snack this summer for watching Love Island. Yes, I am totally hooked and I feel the need to have snacks at the ready. Does anyone else feel like they're going to the cinema each evening watching this?
With a huge bunch of bananas on the counter, getting more and more yellow each day I was racking my brain for what to make with them. I've made so much Banana Bread in the last few weeks, and the freezer is still stocked with it, so decided to do something different. And as it's so hot, I needed something a little more refreshing to snack on.
Something sweet, not too unhealthy but still delicious.
Chocolate covered bananas hit the spot! Find out how you can make them below.
Ingredients (makes 2 banana pops)
2 x Bananas
6 x Squares Dark Chocolate (I use 70%)
6 x Crushed Hazelnuts
1-2 tsp Nut Butter
Cut the bananas about 3/4 of the way down. Carefully insert a skewer into each of the bananas, and on a plate place into the freezer to chill.
Whilst they're chilling melt the chocolate in the microwave and crush the hazelnuts. Drizzle the chocolate over the bananas, top with the hazelnuts and nut butter. I also like to add a little crushed ginger nut biscuit which adds a delicious flavour.
Place in the freezer for 20 minutes, and enjoy X
The great thing about these is you can add whatever toppings you want, like cocao nibs, dried raspberries or seeds.
